One of the First Classic Rock Songs I Ever Heard |

My dad has always been and will forever be a music aficionado. Because my dad played records far more than he read books or watched TV, my older sister and I were almost obliged to love music, too. My father played a lot of classic rock songs in our house when we were growing up. One of the first classic rock songs I can ever recall hearing is Scottish singer Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street. This song is about Rafferty’s time busking on the streets of London. I must have been very young when I first heard Baker Street, because it was released in 1978, the year I turned two. Perhaps I vividly recall listening to Baker Street because I thought it one of the best classic rock songs my father had. I still think Baker Street is one of the best classic rock songs around. I love the vocals, percussion, saxophone and lyrics of the song. I found Baker Street among the classic rock videos on the YouTube website. It still sounds just as great as it did when I was a kid, if not better.
